It's such a shame that humans sell out for their food. Did the little hen ask for this kind of life in exchange for her eggs? Likely not.
Did you know that after hatching, most male chicks get fed, live, into a chipper? There they start there new life being ripped to bits for protein in certain foods for animals.
I try and send out my thoughts to all the kind fowl in this world that are at our needy whims.
So, let's see what we can do to help! Knitting jumpers for ex-battery hens is such a sweet and practical idea, even if you can't have any chickens. We all have to start making a difference somewhere, and even the smallest bit of help is often the largest!
